Litho Printing

litho Litho printing is also known as lithography and works on the basis that oil and water do not mix. The process uses a flat stone that is treated and attracts the oils to the image areas where the oily inked area leaves an imprint of the desired design on the material. Litho printing is available with the following specifications:

  • Can print up to 100 lpi
    Minimum dot factor, 5% dot screening, solids at 90% (effects high light and solids) i.e. Tends to make the image look muddy
    Vignette (fade out) stops in a hard line at 5% minimum dot, but is not that noticeable on the transparent substrate i.e. no white and black
  • Any amount of colour can be used
  • Minimum run 3000 sheets
  • For food contact packaging, print must be on the outside

 
Outside print = matt, Inside print = glossy

Materials: PVC, PET, PP, Foil board, Carton board (100 – 800 micron)
